8600 GT on Hardy here aswell. No Shadows too. I'd be really happy if someone could put the newest Nvidia-Driver to the Repository. :/ As the fixing is not really hard but a lot of People are affected, this really should be fixed soon. I wouldn't want to recommend Hardy to someone transferring from Windows to Ubuntu. It's just very bad Publicity if Ubuntu is borked right from the first view. Low Importance doesn't really meet the significance of this Bug.
