Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
When updating from Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04, the update GUI hangs after
"Calculating changes" on my system. I then ran do-release-upgrade -d to
see the command line output, and the following seems to be the pertinent
section;
Calculating the changes
Not enough free disk space
The upgrade aborts now. The upgrade needs a total of 1868M free space
on disk '/'. Please free at least an additional 246M of disk space on
'/'. Empty your Deleted Items folder and remove temporary packages of
former installations using 'sudo apt-get clean'.
Restoring original system state
Aborting
This looks from an outsider's point of view like a fairly simple one,
but if you need any other info I'm happy to oblige.
** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
