Public bug reported: Hi,
I just upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy. When I use firefox to access http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/4986 (either by entering the address in the address line or by clicking on it, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+bug/209553 'assigned to' for the link), the Xserver crashes and I'm thrown back to the login screen. All other pages I accessed so far work ok. /var/log/messages: Apr 25 11:49:13 terra kernel: [60252.182785] Xorg[5253]: segfault at 0000011b eip b6e10a70 esp bffb9590 error 4 Apr 25 11:49:13 terra kernel: [60252.238802] compiz.real[7016]: segfault at 050afff8 eip 08055a80 esp bfc7e570 error 4 I've turned off the desktop effects via system/preferences/appearance, same result. I'm using the proprietary Nvidia drivers in a dual-monitor setup. This failure does *not* occur on my notebook (which I also upgraded to Hardy) with an Intel graphics chipset. Please let me know what extra information I should provide. cheers, a. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Xserver crashes when clicking on link in Firefox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221910 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
