True, but unless someone goes to their site they'd probably never know. Heck I didn't even know, was busy scouring the Ubuntu forums to find a fix!
I think a future release might need a GUI step added to the initial setup and/or perhaps a way to change the number of channels via a program/script under System::Preferences::Sound or Accessories::Sound & Video.
