Hi In fact, it worked later, but the way i used was a bit radical. I had a kubuntu 7.10 disc, i reinstalled it and updated succesfully. Sorry i can't help you with the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade. I was using xubuntu on which i had added the kubuntu desktop.
