OK, I tried to narrow the thing down to a minimal witness.
Using the attached file I can deterministically reproduce
using these steps:
1. Delete or move away ${HOME}/.openoffice.org2
2. Open the attached file:
$ ooffice broken.odp
3. While this document is open, also other documents show the error.
(more on that in a second).
