Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager-core

Attached is the main.log from my attempt to upgrade with UpdateManager. It
appears that debug creates a repository to satisfy the upgrade and then when
fetching from that repository it fails. The repository does not, in fact,
exist, being a PowerPC port. There are other arches available at:
"http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/dists/dapper-backports/main/debian-installer/";
 (like ia64) but not the called for: "binary-powerpc/Packages.gz"
The upgrade fails and the system is returned to previous state. Modifying
/etc/apt/sources has no effect and the repository is recreated each time the
upgrade is attempted.
