I'm having the same problem but it's with the Ubuntu 8.04 final version. It was working fine on my Xubuntu 7.10 I instaled Ubuntu 8.04 from the ground and the wifi doesn't worked. Booting from the live CD (Ubuntu 8.04) it doesn't worked either.
