Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: roundup
i have no idea what roundup is. definitely not something i chose to
install.
perhaps related:
when i rebooted after dist-upgrading to 8.04, my X display never came up.
looking in Xorg.0.log it appears the system was trying to use VESA modes
although i was using the accelerated nv driver in 7.10
i logged into the text console and manually ran 'startx' after deleting the X
lock file.
