My system used to work fine when I was running Feisty.

I recently upgraded to Hardy and, since then, everytime I go "System -->
Logout" or simply click the shutdown button next to the system clock on
gnome panel, I don't even get the options screen.  The system simply
hangs up.  I can do ctrl+alt+backspace though.  From GDM I'm able to
shutdown and reboot.
