Same problem here. Only difference is my nvidia drivers are whatever is
got via the regular ubuntu repositories.
The machine is not locked after resume, the screen is just completely
black. I usually blindly hit CTRL-ALT-F1... wait for a few seconds for
the console (the screen is still black, but i assume the console is
there) then CTRL-ALT-DEL to cause a clean reboot (at least).
Also, interestingly, i have found that it works to manually execute (and
the machine will resume successfully):
sudo /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force
I don't know what "force" does differently than non-forced.
