IMHO this is not a but related to ACPI. in fact exactly now I started the laptop, when I got the login screen I pressed CTRL + ALT + F1 to go to a terminal and got the exact same thing: laptop monitor shutdown and complete pc hang :/
It looks like a problem in the graphic drivers (my xorg.conf is quite "empty" compared to the old versions....
