I also have this problem here. I upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy and my touchpad stopped working completely (it was working perfectly in Gutsy). I have to: sudo rmmod psmouse && sudo modprobe psmouse
to make it work in the same level described in this bug report (no advanced features and jerky behaviour). My laptop is a Gateway 5570Z (model 5570-2607), and touchpad is detected as (in /proc/bus/input/devices): I: Bus=0011 Vendor=0002 Product=0007 Version=12b1 N: Name="SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" P: Phys=isa0060/serio4/input0 S: Sysfs=/devices/platform/i8042/serio4/input/input12 U: Uniq= H: Handlers=mouse3 event11 B: EV=b B: KEY=6420 0 7000f 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 B: ABS=11000003 I reported it on my blog: http://lkraider.eipper.com.br/blog/2008/04/dist-upgrade-hardy.html#touchpad -- [Hardy] touchpad not recognised - Fujitsu-Siemens laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195412 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
