I'm trying to install Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" - Release Candidate
AMD64 but the computer is turned off just after the progress bar
"Loading the Linux Kernel" reaches 100%.
Hardware:
- Athlon 64 X2 4200
- Motherboard Asus M2N-MX SE, with Geforce 6100.
- HD IDE ST3120022A in the same PATA channel of the DVD LG GSA-H22N
I sucessfully installed the Debian Etch and run the lspci, with the

I've tried the following kernel options:
- noapic
- nolapic
- acpi=off
- irqpool
- From "http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9184"; earlyprintk=vga
- All combinations off the above options. The results were the same. Always.
Already tried to change several in BIOS, with no change.
