I made this change (mine is /dev/scd0 on Kubuntu Hardy) and it makes
Amarok's "Engage | Play Audio CD" work, but the change doesn't stick
long; ejecting, loading a CD, choose "Play Audio Cd with amaroK" on the
"Audio CD - KDE Daemon" pop up, and the problem recurs, because Amarok's
setting has been reset to /dev/cdrom.

I have edited the media.audio_cd.device entries in ~/xine and
~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/xine-config, with no effect.

When this happens, ps -ef shows a process whose command is "amarokapp
--cdplay /dev/cdrom", which when run manually indeed has the effect of
changing the setting. Clearly, the problem lies with the KDE Daemon pop
up, does anyone know where it gets its options from?
