xfonts-bitmap-mule installs fonts to /usr/share/X11/fonts/misc/. That
directory is no longer on the default fontpath, please use
/usr/share/fonts/X11/misc/ instead.
It looks like this bug was fixed in Debian's 8.5+0.20030825.0433-3 but
the fix didn't make it into the Ubuntu version.
