Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub

I have downloaded and installed the desktop i386 Ubuntu 8.04 image, and
installed it a total of 3 times. On each attempt it fails to install
GRUB - the installation simply quits with no error at 94%, "Configuring
Boot Loader."

I have attempted the install with the network cable unplugged and my
wireless card disabled. It is possible to boot by modifying my existing
grub install (in the still present 7.10) to point to the new install,
but I have never had problems with GRUB installing before.

Searching for bugs returns a few similar ones on older versions of
Ubuntu and the 8.04 betas, but since this is the first time I have come
across it, my guess is it is a new bug.

I am using a Toshiba Portege R500 laptop, installing on a single logical
partition which also contains Windows XP and one previous Ubuntu
install.

** Affects: grub (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
