Public bug reported:
I'm experiencing constant lockups on 2.6.24-16-generic. This is actually
not a new problem, I had it on this hardware under Gutsy. Been using a
different distro, but installed Hardy to test it.
System locks up solid a few seconds after login. Nothing works, requires
a hard reset. SSH shows nothing at all from /proc/kmsg during the
lockup.
Hardy 64-bit with latest updates
AMD Athlon 63 X2 6000
Asus M2N-E SLI
Nvidia 7300GT
2GB RAM
SATA HD
I can boot to a stable system by using noapic nolapic acpi=off irqpoll,
but this leaves me with no USB, which on this mobo also means no sound.
uhci_hcd never loads, adding it to etc/modules loads the module, but
still no actual USB/sound.
dmesg hints at using acpi_use_timer_override and pci=biosirq, but these
make no difference to either a default boot, or the noapic verrsion.
