Public bug reported:

Hi all,

I am having a problem with my evolution. I am using Hardy.

I just did a upgrade and it requires me to do a partial upgrade. I was a
bit find this intriguing because I had already done the distribution
upgrade and it says the upgrade is not complete (???). Anyway it removed
some of the files which I don't know what are they used for, and some
which I am using such as evolution.

It removed some of the files, including evolution and put in a new one
called "evolution mail and calender". After the upgrade, I couldn't
launch evolution. A window appeared and said," Could not launch menu
item, Failed to execute child process "evolution" (No such file or
directory)". I went to the Add/ Remove Application and found that
evolution was not installed. So I went to check the box beside
"evolution" to install but it says:

"Cannot install 'evolution'

This application conflicts with other installed software. To install
'evolution' the conflicting software must be removed first.

Switch to the 'synaptic' package manager to resolve this conflict."

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
