I just did a clean install of 8.04, installed duplicity via aptitude,
and could not replicate.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ duplicity --help
duplicity version 0.4.10 running on linux2.

duplicity [restore] [options] source_url target_dir
duplicity verify [options] source_url target_dir
