That is good news that the newer -intel from Debian experimental solved the issue. It's not likely that we'd be able to pull that driver in, however if we could identify particular patches we may be able to SRU them.
mek, can you also confirm that running Debian's 2.3.0 driver resolves your issue? Also, would either of you mind trying out the 'rac763634' git driver at this page: http://people.ubuntu.com/~bryce/bisect/?
