Guys, I've got to agree here. I've clean installed xubuntu hardy over gutsy on a laptop which has used every ubuntu variation since warty...and cannot get the resolution to work right. Auto config rarely works on this laptop (via graphics) but I've always been able to get it to work by tweaking xorg.cong...now there is nothing in xorg.conf to tweak, and dpkg-reconfigure has been emasculated. I cannot rebuild xorg from scratch. I didn't keep my gutsy xorg because it has always been a couple of minutes work to make it function. I have 11 computers running ubuntu variants in my house, and 20 odd others that I am responsible for, and this was the first upgrade to Hardy which has now taken hours of frustration...please fix this and give us back our tools.
