I found this problem as follows:- 1. Click on 'Places' 2. In the places panel, click on 'search for files' 3. In the Search for files panel insert 'name contains' Jpg and 'look in folder' File system, click find. 4 In my system many jpg's are listed, often with incorrect thumbnails. ie the thumbnail displayed next to a filename is actually from a different file. There does not seem to be much logic as to which incorrect thumbnail is displayed, except that it is quite often the same incorrect thumbnail. Then click on an incorrect thumbnail and the correct image is displayed by Eye of Gnome.
