Public bug reported:
I had Kubuntu 8.04 installed on 1 partition (and additionally several data
filesystems), I cold installed the final release of Kubuntu 8.04 onother
fileystem.
When I boot into the last installed Kubuntu I only had the root disk
automatically available. When I open up konqueror I can see the other
harddisk volumes but they're unmounted. When I manually mount them
(right click and mount in konqueror), I get names like /media/disk-1,
/media/disk2, ... while actually I would have expected /media/sda1,
/media/sda2 (using the name of the block device).
The sd? naming convention looks much clearer to me.
P.S. I got the other ones easily available in an automatic way by taking
information from the fstab file of the original installed Kubuntu.
