Public bug reported:

Hi,

I am a n00b, so it might not be a bug at all, but chose to report
anyway:

I just installed Hardy Heron on an Asus a3500n laptop.
The system works smoothly, except for the visual effects:
These work fine when I start one user at first. However, when I switch user
(thus leaving the other account running), visual effects are not working for
the second user. Same problem if I start users the other way around; always
second started user where visual effects fail.
I also tried visual effect with the compiz fusion package; exact same problem
again...

Is it a bug in Ubuntu or maybe a memory problem? Before I switch user,
around half of my ram is still available...

System memory RAM: 512 Mb
Graphics card: Intel 855gm (shared memory)

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
