Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem-mozilla
By default the Ubuntu Hardy installer appears to install Firefox with the Totem plug in for media handling. The problem is that this does not appear to work with the BBC audio and video feeds and Real Player is needed instead, if you want to listen to BBC Radio, News 24, etc. However, you must remove the Totem mozilla plugin before installing Real Player (from http://www.real.com/linux), otherwise, it will not install correctly and you still can't listen to the BBC. As a minimum this needs to be mentioned in the release notes. However, it would be better if there was an apt-get install package that downloaded and installed real player similarly to the way that Adobe Flash is downloaded and installed. This package could then correctly identify the conflict with Totem and uninstall it. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Totem plugin for mozilla interferes with Real Player https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/225667 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
