C, the fix for 138256 is hardware-specific, so you probably have a
different chip that just needs to have a similar quirk added.

The fix for that issue is to quirk your card to force enabling Pipe A.
If you suspect you're having this bug, try setting this option in your
xorg.conf:

  Section "Device"
    ...
    Option "ForceEnablePipeA" "true"
  EndSection

If that eliminates the issue, then please give following information:

  * Paste in the output of `lspci -vvnn | grep -A1 "VGA compat"`
  * Give the laptop model name and number
  * Confirm that adding "ForceEnablePipeA" solved the problem

Then I can add a quirk for your hardware too (these can be sru'd, so
Hardy users will benefit).
