Public bug reported:

Command "sudo chmod a+w /media/disk" helps to give write access to
everybody. Suprisingly the permission remains after umount mount when
the directory is created again. I am using Xubuntu.

What are the principles of default user:group and permissions for USB
storage devices? My USB flash memory has normal user as owner and access
premissions only for the owner.
