I experience the same problem. Camera is a Olympus C-500 Zoom. Under
Edgy the camera was detected as a C-370Z and worked perfectly with
digikam. Feisty worked as well after removing gphoto2 from udev rules.
However, it does not work with Hardy, as it seems. Same problems as
described: Dialog pops up, digikam finds camera but cannot list files,
dolphin reports problems connecting to port. And dmesg equals the posts
above. Long story shorts: A perfect duplicate of the problems in the
previous posts.
