I'm sorry that I didn't give you the information needed, but I don't know what could be helpful :(
After renaming ~/.mozilla the wine desktop didn't appear, and the Firefox window appeared just as it should do. So it did on another (newly created) user account. There are no files in /var/crash. When starting firefox with my old ~/.mozilla directory on my terminal, I get the following output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ firefox preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000 preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000 err:dosmem:setup_dos_mem Cannot use first megabyte for DOS address space, please report preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000 err:dosmem:setup_dos_mem Cannot use first megabyte for DOS address space, please report preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000 err:dosmem:setup_dos_mem Cannot use first megabyte for DOS address space, please report fixme:spoolsv:serv_main (0 (nil)) err:dosmem:setup_dos_mem Cannot use first megabyte for DOS address space, please report preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000 err:dosmem:setup_dos_mem Cannot use first megabyte for DOS address space, please report I noticed that it is exactly the same output the terminal gives me when starting winecfg.
