I am seeing the exact same problem on my Dell Inspiron 9400, for which I filed bug #222703. I installed 8.04 to a separate partition from my existing 6.10 install. The 6.10 install still suspends and resumes fine. It is definitely broken in Hardy though.
What's the protocol here ?
