When I trying the release candidate of Ubuntu Hardy my desktop folder
disappeared along with all my files. Later after several reboots all the
contents of my home folder was displayed on the desktop, the desktop
folder itself was still missing. The desktop icon was still on the left
hand column under places but I couldn't click on it. Eventually, the
desktop folder returned but all the files that was originally there did
not. Then, two days after official launch, all the contents of my music
folder disappeared.
