Public bug reported:
I tried to run some applications and a message appeared in the task bar saying
'(Application) starting. Then it died. Nothing further happened. I tried
running other applications and the same thing happened. I tried using alt+F2
and entered 'gnome-terminal' and nothing happened. I ended up re-installing.
This was an a Dell 1150.
