this still exists in 7.10
in "System>Appearances, switch desktop effects "None" to "Normal" under the
"Visual Effects" tab
the options under "Workspace Switcher Preferences" are reduced to columns and
rpws of Workspaces
the other options go away and the names are no longer present
switch back from "Normal" to "None" and all is restored...
