I have experienced this video issue with every Linux distro I have used,
except knoppix and a few others. I am not sure if it is something with
my monitor or my ATI video card, but I always got a black screen when
booting. Using dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg or a similar command
resolves the issue. I am not that technical but with doing research I
was able to get X working, However, many Windows users might not have
gone and found a solution. They will Boot to a black screen and just
give up there, now "Linux" doesn't work. With dpkg-reconfigure xserver-
xorg disappearing all of a sudden I am not happy. I thought the Ubuntu
Team would for sure release another option in the final release. NOPE,
its a "WIndows" thing to make things auto-detect. Its only good when it
works!!! This makes me look elsewhere for my Linux OS.
