The ATI fix is for ATI cards only, and for me I am having I think the
same problem. On logout and shutdown the system leaves Kde and goes to
a black screen with just my mouse cursor. I can get to the Function Key
terminals, I generally go to a terminal and restart kdm. Is this the
same problem?
