This post is simply to confirm the last one. Repeated tests give the
same result: Simply performing a warm re-boot destroys the sound after
the first post-installation boot. After the initial boot sound works
normally. Asoundconf list indicates the sound card as "Intel" both
before and after the problem manifests. Searching the user home
directory shows there to be no .asoundrc or .asoundrc.asoundconf file on
the installation either before or after the problem arises. Speaker-test
reports no problems, but produces no sound after the second boot. There
are no sound configuration files in the /etc directory before or after.

I have double-checked the .iso's md5sum and error checked the resulting
CD. Everything appears normal.
