You'll need boot option pci=nomsi to boot hardy.
It's the exact same motherboard as I have. The communication with the
VT8251 southbridge's SATA controller causes the kernel to fail.
irqpoll also works, but for me it causes a flood of ACPI errors in my
logs which I figure aren't too good.
