Apologies for forgetting to update this one. I think the problem was actually an incompatibility between an xsane.rc file from a previous kubuntu distribution and the version of xsane provided with Hardy. When I told my friend, over the phone, to delete this file and try starting xsane again it worked fine and saved a new xsane.rc file.
I would like to suggest that xsane should record somewhere in xsane.rc, the version of xsane which created the file, deleting it automatically and starting afresh if it is suspected of being incompatible. As far as I can tell, this would not be a big deal like the config file for, say, postfix or dovecot would be. -- xsane preview broken in Hardy Beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205139 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
