Blade II, I might have forgotten to mention that the reason for me to install the driver from the realtek site was exactly the behavior you are describing now (sometimes working and sometimes not). Usually with the old driver I would reboot and it would work again. Since I upgraded the drivers on my system (7.10) I have not had this problem yet. And since I have the same mobo as yours I'm still waiting and holding off the upgrade up to 8.04 unfortunately....
