I put 'iface eth1 inet dhcp' in /etc/network/interfaces. Didn't help even when I did 'ifup eth1'. I want to be able to use wired (i.e. eth0) when at home and wireless (i.e. eth1) when away from home (on my laptop): surely his must be possible with Hardy.
I 'reversed out' fix suggested in bug 218763 (using ndiswrapper) and rebooted. I then used Restricted Drivers Manager (i.e. jockey-gtk) and this showed Broadcom B43 driver enabled & in use. I checked iptables using -L and noticed that chain output only had 192.168.0.74 (i.e. the static ip I assigned in /etc/network/interfaces to eth0). So I removed 'auto eth0' from /etc/network/interfaces and rebooted.
