Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usplash

I have installed Ubuntu 8.04 and no usplash comes up at boot.
The monitor simple goes to idle mode ... (as if it is given a wrong frequency)
untill X starts.

I'm using an LCD monitor at 1280 x 1024.
My system use Radeon Xpress 200.

I searched for help and found to change the resolution in /etc/usplash.conf
file. In this file has the correct resolution, 1280 x 1024, then I ran the
comand:
$ sudo update-usplash-theme usplash-theme-ubuntu
The problem continue, I change the resolution to 1024 x 768 and ran the comand.
After this the usplash screen function well in 1024 x 768.

When the correction for this problem will come??
