ubuntu 8.04 with hand-compiled madwifi (no other modifications)
toshiba satellite A200-1YU
In gdm (and only in gdm) when i select options and reboot or halt gdmgreeter
turns off, and i see VT8 with boot messages, but no halting messages. as i said
gdmgreeter is not working, but i can switch to another console, and ps says
that gdm is still running.
It looks like gdm isn't properly rebooting/halting. It doesn't manifest always.
Sometimes halting/rebooting works, sometimes not (more often it doesn't work).
Halting/rebooting works correctly when done from gnome panel or with command
line. I could provide additional information (ps, proc etc) if needed.
