Binary package hint: update-manager
It appears that recently on Ubuntu 8.04 that this package update notifier
broke, because when i bring up the main update dialog the install updates
button seems to always check the updates instead of installing new updates.
to get a idea on what's installed... here's a quick output of dpkg -l | grep
update to show what's installed.
