Hi I hope I am posting in the right thread. I am New to Linux but very eager to learn and help.
I was trying to sign on to the internet with firefox but was repeatedly denied. I could hear my hard drive working hard, and the light was steady on. Why was my hard drive working so hard without permission? I am using Edubuntu 7.10 upgraded to 8.04 Hardy Heron I just find it strange that the hard drive randomly runs that hard with no user input. It seems to happen when the internet is open. When it happens I turn the wireless radio off, it quickly slows and stops. I am not 100% sure if CPU is also affected but I believe it is.
