Hi, Just wanted to confirm this bug on Ubuntu 8.04 I used to have the same problem on my computer (ATI Radeon 9250 card, using the open source drivers): funky splash colors on shutdown + very dark colors in the console modes. However, I had a vga=791 in my menu.lst, so I removed it. Now everything is fine, no more funky colors at shutdown and the consloe colors are ok.
So here are my conclusions: 1) There are 2 problems which seem to have the same cause: funky splash colors on shutdown + very dark colors in the console modes. 2) Removing any "vga=" statement from menu.lst solves the problem. @Saïvann Carignan: I hope this helps :) Btw - some more details about my machine: kernel = 2.6.24-16-generic distribution = Kiwi Linux 8.04, based on Ubuntu 8.04 + I attached the output of "lspci -vvnn" ** Attachment added: "lspci-vvnn.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14431965/lspci-vvnn.txt -- Funky Colors on Shutdown Screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/43223 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
