Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor
To reproduce:
-Open System Monitor.
-Select the "processes" tab.
-Right-click on a process and select "change priority".
-Move the slider to a non-zero value.
-Click OK.
-The program now asks for the "root" password.
Obviously, this doesn't exist in a default installation of Ubuntu, so
the dialog should really ask for the user's password for the purpose of
performing an administrative task, as when opening Synaptic, for
example.
NB: Entering the user's password does work, i.e. the "nice" value does
change as it should.
