I've had the same problem and I have to use a fix like Yuriy's to get
back a usable system. The first two times, it got so much memory that
there was no swap available and I had to do a hard reset because the
system was so unresponsive. Another time, I was away with the KDE4
session still running and apparently my laptop reached critical
temperature (had to read my syslogs to find this out!). Now I have to
monitor KWin carefully and kill it when I am away from my laptop. I
really think this bug ought to have higher importance.
