Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kdebase
I'm using kubuntu in a nis domain. The domain provides nfs shares via
nis that is mounted with autofs. My $HOME is mounted this way. My
problem is that when typing / in the address bar the system freezes
while looking for .directory in the automounted catalogs. I cannot do
anything while konqueror tries to find .directory. The desktop is locked
several minutes. I can move the mouse and terminals can refresh, but I
cannot switch window until konquerer stops looking for .directory files
in the shares.
I have the following messages in my syslog i have three mount points
/home /sw and /net.
May 13 08:45:41 flint automount[1878]: mount(nfs): nfs: mount failure
server.domain.net:/san/home/.directory
on /home/.directory
May 13 08:45:41 flint automount[1878]: failed to mount /home/.directory
I am using kubuntu 8.04.
