Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

If you un-plug a removable storage media without un-mounting it, its
icon remains on the desktop. The folder where it was mounted in /media
also remains.

Then, if you re-plug it, a new icon appears on the desktop (making it
two for the same device), and a new folder is created in /media (with
the same name as the first one, with '_' appended to it).

The only solution to remove the former folder is to run "umount -l
/media/MOUNTPOINT". Then you can remove it, and the first icon
disappears from the desktop.

PS: I saw this bug for the first time after upgrading to Hardy.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
